Peer Connexion

Disability Support - In your home and community

Why choose connexion_one for your disability support?

At connexion_one, we focus on disability support with a difference – we link you up with peers and mentors, including people with lived experience themselves of disability and mental health, and that is why we name our disability support unit, ‘peer_connexion’.

We link you with peer workers and mentors based on what ‘peer’ means to you – this could be age, gender, disability, sexuality, community, culture and/or things you like to do.

The type of support that we offer is guided by you and your NDIS plan, and can include:

  • practical help around your home
  • daily living skills, including cooking and planning meals
  • getting to the shops and appointments
  • connecting with social supports and recreation
  • identifying and developing your skills and abilities
  • assisting you with strategies to improve your quality of life
  • mentoring to assist you to achieve your goals
  • support with education, training and employment
  • transport to help you get to where you need to be
  • transport training, so you can get where you need to be independently
  • making friends

We assist people aged 12 years and up, and work across metro Adelaide and surrounding areas.

Other great facts:

…We have a great team of Peer Workers with experience and training in community work, disability support, mental health support, teaching and allied health.

…Even some of our team have NDIS plans too, so they understand how important (and sometimes tricky) getting your head around your NDIS plan can be – we understand you!

…We even have our very own peer_connexion dog! Learn more below.

Meet Ruby, our peer_connexion dog!

Ruby is an 8 year old Moodle (mix of Maltese and Poodle) and loves to come out on visits with our Peer Workers.

Having a dog like Ruby visit clients is important because it can provide emotional comfort, reduce stress, and create a calming, positive environment, as well as lots of smiles!

Ruby enjoys going for walks and getting lots of pats – and doesn’t mind a treat or two!

How we find your perfect support match

Let’s have a chat about what you might be looking for in a Peer Worker and Mentor. You might be surprised to discover we have team members who share common interests with you and would be a great match!
